About Fragments

We're Tasmania's only specialist renovation store, and we've been part of Hobart's renovation community for more than 40 years.

I've owned Fragments for the past 18 years, and during that time we've helped countless customers find the right products for their homes, whether they're restoring original features, renovating a single room or tackling an entire house.

We're not just an online store, and we think that's important.

Our large Hobart shop has extensive displays of architectural hardware, lighting, tapware, bathroom fittings and fireclay sinks. We also supply timber doors, traditional electrical switches, genuine plaster ceiling roses and decorative plasterwork, wallpaper, Porter’s Paints and other specialist renovation products.

While we have a particular interest in classic, period and character homes, our range includes plenty of products suited to contemporary interiors too.

One of the things that makes Fragments different is our knowledge of the products we sell. Renovating an older home can present all sorts of challenges, especially when you're trying to replace existing fittings or find something that works with original doors, windows and joinery. Small details matter, and choosing the wrong product can be an expensive mistake.

We take pride in helping our customers make informed purchasing decisions, drawing on years of experience and an understanding of how products work together.

Another special part of Fragments is our furniture. Chris, our talented furniture maker and restorer, has a remarkable ability to see the potential in old pieces that others might overlook. He makes beautiful individual pieces using new, recycled and salvaged timber, and restores and repurposes antique and vintage furniture, often giving it an entirely new life.

There's considerably more to see in our Hobart shop than you'll find on our website. Most of our products are displayed in-store so customers can examine their quality, finishes and proportions before ordering them.

For customers outside Tasmania, our online shop offers a selection of our extensive range of architectural hardware, lighting, tapware, bathroom fittings and fireclay sinks, with delivery throughout Australia.

After more than 40 years in Hobart, Fragments remains an independently owned business where quality products, specialist knowledge and personal service matter.
